Data center in the public sector

In order to further meet the current demands for data capacity, the broadcaster's data centre was to be equipped with additional capacity. We expanded the cabling structure with the installation of our TTLan DC UFS system, which meets the requirements of modern high-speed networks while offering extremely high packing density.

Our client

Our client is part of a cooperation of public broadcasters and radio and provides data centre services. Our client supports central IT projects of its cooperation partners at numerous locations of the broadcasting companies with approx. 200 employees. Our client offers high-quality IT services in the areas of SAP, data centre services, as well as archiving and production systems. Thanks to decades of know-how, the company has a special understanding of the industry, creates benefits and added value for the broadcasters and supports them in the implementation of their IT strategy.

The challenge

One of our client's services is the provision of data centre services, for which purpose our client operates its own data centres and is continuously expanding them. In order to continue to meet the current and predicted future demand for data capacity, our customer has carried out two projects:

  1. Expansion of the currently existing data centre capacity of an existing data centre
  2. Restart of the complete data centre infrastructure of a data centre to be relocated

A smooth process characterised by short access times and a highly compact solution were particularly important to our customer.

Our solution

Within the scope of both projects, we were able to accompany the customer in the selection of the necessary system solution, planning, installation and acceptance:

Construction of a cabling structure in the data center for high-speed networks with the highest packing density using pre-assembled TTLAN DC UFS system.

Installation and labelling of panels in 1 and 2 U (144/ 288 fibres on 1 U/ 2 U)

Proper laying, tying and plugging of the fibre optic cables.

Carrying out the damping measurement of all lines. Handing over the measurement reports and issuing a system guarantee for 25 years.

Management of our implementation partner and realisation of the project in the shortest time possible.

Insights into the project

TTL Network perfectly implemented our wishes and specifications. Realization, project flow and documentation were convincing. Especially the TTlan® DC UFS system convinced us very much with its handling and user-friendliness during patching, despite the high packing density.
