Network isolators ensure safety
Medical environments also need to ensure that sensitive medical equipment and patients are protected from potentially dangerous electrical interference. This is achieved through the use of galvanic isolators, which separate the flow of electrical currents between two network parts, rendering any potential fluctuations or voltage spikes harmless. The quality of the network connection and data transmission is not affected. At which point in the medical-electrical network a galvanic isolator must be coupled in and which technical properties it must have is regulated by the international safety standard IEC 60601-1.
RJ45 Network isolators
Our tested, UL-certified compact RJ45 network isolators have been specially designed for Ethernet networks in medical areas, but are equally suitable for Industrial Ethernet applications. They galvanically isolate in accordance with the strict medical technology safety standard EN 60601-1 (2MOPP) and offer reliable protection against dangerous potential differences, external and interference voltages from the LAN connection at a transmission performance in Ethernet of 10Gbps.
The product is suitable for wall or top-hat rail mounting (using accessories).
